Puffins

Puffins are amazing little seabirds, and few wildlife encounters are more rewarding than seeing these delightful characters up close. The islands of Staffa, off Scotland’s west coast, and the Farne Islands, off Northumberland, offered me wonderful opportunities to watch and photograph puffins during the breeding season.

With their colourful bills, bright eyes and comical expressions, these birds are so entertaining as they fly in from the sea carrying sand eels or waddle around their burrows. Spending time among these lovely seabirds is a real privilege and provides unforgettable moments for any wildlife photographer.
