Owls

Everyone loves owls, and I’m no exception. These photographs are the result of plenty of patience, hard work and many hours spent waiting for a glimpse of these wonderful birds, often in challenging light.

A handful of the photos were taken during a photography workshop, and I make no apologies for including them, as capturing the image you have in mind still takes skill, timing and a little luck!

Most, however, are of wild owls, which makes each sighting all the more special. I feel very fortunate to have seen all five of Britain’s owl species this year in the wild, and the photos capture some of these special moments.
