Bearded Tits (Reedlings)
Autumn is a wonderful time to watch bearded tits (or reedlings) as they move through the reedbeds in search of seeds. One of their fascinating behaviours is gathering tiny pieces of grit, which they use to help grind down the tough seeds in order to aid digestion.
These photographs were taken at RSPB Leighton Moss and RSPB St Aidan’s.
